Straight warp belts use a unique carcass construction made with much thicker cords than conventional belt fabrics. Load-carrying warp cords run straight lengthwise (“straight warp”) while fill yarns run parallel above and below them. Binder cords run between the warp and fill cords to lock them together, spreading the cords out instead of crimping them to increase dimensional stability, load support and rigidity.
The binder cords act as a built-in breaker, giving straight warp belts 2-3 times the tear, cut and impact resistance of equivalent multi-ply belts. This unique construction also maximizes flexibility, minimizes stretching and gives straight warp belts excellent bolt holding capabilities for buckets and mechanical fasteners*.
*Recommended fasteners – Fastener choice is dependent on belt tension, pulley diameters and operating conditions. Consult the fastener manufacturer’s catalog for fastener recommendations and installation procedures.
