Lacing and Splicing

Vulcanized, Mechanical, and Rubber Covered Fasteners


Lacing and splicing is offered in a variety of options for joining belts together: vulcanized splices for high speeds and demanding applications, mechanical fasteners for quick change-outs, and rubber covered fasteners which provide the ease of installation of mechanical fasteners and the smooth operation of endless belts.

Lacing entails the use of mechanical fasteners to join belt ends quickly and securely. Installation and change out are a snap with the wide variety of fasteners available, including: Alligator, Clipper, Flexco, Minet and many others. Lacing can be hidden beneath or recessed below belt covers to avoid contact with product. Plastic ( non-reactive ) Spiral Lacing and Rivet Fasteners are also available.

Splicing entails the use of cold bonding agents or hot vulcanization to join belt ends permanently. Splices can be finished ( bonded ) or prepared; belts supplied with prepared laps allow for endless splicing on systems at the time of installation ( hot or cold cements are available with instructions ). Finger splices for Thermoplastic belting provide secure, flexible joints for a variety of Light Duty applications.
